Stanton again culprit as Mudcats drop eighth straight

Mike Stanton continued his rampage against the Carolina Mudcats, extending their misery for another day.

Stanton had three homers for seven RBI, leading the Jacksonville Suns to an 11-2 win and handing the visiting Mudcats their eighth straight defeat.

Curtis Partch, up from Lynchburg for his Southern League debut while Dallas Buck was placed on the Carolina League club’s roster, worked three innings and allowed seven runs on seven hits.
Jacksonville’s Alex Sanabia (2-0) struck out seven in seven shutout innings.

Jacksonville was up 11-0 before the Mudcats broke up the shutout on an eighth-inning single from Yonder Alonso, who finished with two hits. Michael Griffin added an RBI double in the ninth.
