There were no surprises in Tuesday's primary for Durham County Sheriff. Incumbent Worth Hill won the Democratic primary, securing 62.77 percent of the vote to competitor Tony Butler's 37.23 percent. This is the third time Butler has run against Hill.

Hill, who is seeking his fifth term, will face Republican Roy Taylor in the fall election.
