A nice front-page obituary in The News & Observer. McKinney, when he led the School of Design at N.C. State, fought the Wachovia high-rise that casts a shadow on the State Capitol. Later, he was in charge of State's Centennial Campus development, one of the first examples of "mixed use" in the Triangle, though still in suburban form.
