Wow, just when we need it, it's State Fair time. I mean, it's still two weeks away, but we can be thinking about it. Or would you rather think about the stock market?
So the TTA's Triangle Transit's running buses to the Fair on Saturdays and Sundays from RTP and Chapel Hill. $5, $2.50 seniors, kids free. You can't beat that. Details from the don't call it TTA any more/Triangle Transit press office are below the fold.
Research Triangle Park, N.C. (October 1, 2008) - Triangle Transit will offer Express bus
service to the 2008 North Carolina State Fair from two locations on both Saturdays and
both Sundays during the Fair.
The Express Service will run from the Eubanks Road Park-and-Ride Lot in Chapel Hill
and the Triangle Transit Regional Transit Center (RTC) in Research Triangle Park.
On Saturdays (October 18 and 25), Express buses will depart on the hour from Eubanks
Road Park-and-Ride between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Buses will depart at 30 minutes past
the hour from the Triangle Transit RTC in RTP between 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Buses
will return from the State Fairgrounds on the hour between noon and 10pm.
On Sundays (October 19 and 26), Express buses will depart on the hour from Eubanks
Road Park-and-Ride between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Buses will depart at 30 minutes past
the hour from the Triangle Transit RTC in RTP between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Buses will return from the State Fairgrounds on the hour between noon and 6pm.
The Triangle Transit express bus ticket price will be $5.00 round-trip for individuals
over the age of 12. Youth ages 12 and younger ride free. Seniors (65 or older) and
persons with disability pay $2.50 round-trip.
The Eubanks Road Park-and-Ride lot is located on Eubanks Road in northern Chapel
Hill, one-half mile west of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. (NC 86).
The Triangle Transit Regional Transit Center is located at 6 Park Drive, near the
intersection of Davis Drive and NC 54.
