“Your Environment, My Environment: A Fight for Survival” is the cheery topic of a lecture by Greenpeace Executive Director John Passacantando, who will speak at Meredith College Sept. 9. The details are in a Meredith press release. The event is free.

A one-time political conservative, Passacantando converted to the other side in 1987 when Mike Roselle, founder of Earth First! and the Ruckus Society, scaled Mt. Rushmore and hung a giant gas mask on George Washington

Meanwhile, the John Locke Foundation continues its brave fight against the truth by hosting one of the few scientists in America who still thinks global warming is overrated. Roy Spencer, research scientist at U. of Alabama and "official climatologist for the Rush Limbaugh Show" will discuss "global warming hysteria." Sept. 16 at noon. Read all about it and pony up your $25 at the Locke Web site.
