Raleigh's Kat Robichaud finally meets her end on The Voice

Kat Robichaud performs Pat Benatar's "We Belong"

After surviving a battle, a knock out and the top 12 with an Instant Save, Kat Robichaud finally met her end on NBC's The Voice last night. The Raleigh singer delivered Pat Benatar's "We Belong" for her Top 10 performance with typical flare, playing piano, dancing with masked flamenco men, and throwing a fist to the sky. But it wasn't enough to win America (or Twitter) over this week.

Once again Kat was in the bottom three, this time with teammate Caroline Pennell and Team Blake singer Austin Jenckes. After the tense Instant Save window closed, the results were in and, to be honest, weren't all that surprising.

Kat's theatrical glam rock has always sat at odds with the boring-whiteboy-soul and yelling ladies of the live rounds. This just wasn't her audience. Anyone who hugs strangers and stage dives and loves Dr. Who and talks to Amanda Palmer belongs more in a rock club than such a cheery TV show. Still, it was fun to watch while Kat lasted.
