Well Fed, Well Said

When: Sat., July 14, 7 p.m. 2018

"Dinner and a show" sounds like a conventional game plan for a Saturday night. But what happens when dinner is the show? Unconventional Raleigh theater group Seed Art Share loves to stage shows in unusual places, and, as often as not, food's involved. After leading us on a bar crawl of one-acts about mixed drinks last season, they traced the history of beer in Raleigh with a theatrical walking tour of downtown microbreweries in April. They're making healthier choices this time. After being served Negronis for Ian Finley's play The Perfect Negroni at the Glenwood's outdoor amphitheater, you'll move indoors for the comic one-act Beans and Greens at a salad station in the lobby. In the ballroom, public-radio health mavens Joe and Terry Graedon will offer remarks during a three-course vegan or vegetarian dinner from Irregardless Café. Then comes dessert, served with a comedy about mother-daughter birthday tsuris: The Great Eggless, Flourless, Gluten-Free Vegan Chocolate Cake. Dinner, wine, dessert—and a show—are all included in the ticket price. —Byron Woods
