"Violins of Hope"

Worldwide traveling exhibit. Meet Assi Weinstein, whose family survived the Holocaust by hiding in Polish forests, fighting the Nazis & rescuing Jews from extermination. Assi's husband, Amnon Weinstein, has restored 18 violins that were found in Nazi ghettos & death camps; he will tell the stories of these violins. UNC music prof Richard Luby will perform a few pieces on one of the restored violins.
