Vienna Boys Choir

When: Tue., Oct. 13, 8 p.m. 2015

The Vienna Boys Choir is one of the grand institutions of classical music, dating back to 1498 and the reign of Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. For the first 400 years, the choir performed exclusively for the imperial court and only branched out during the past century. There are actually four choirs within the organization; it’s the Haydn Choir that’s currently touring the U.S. Its repertoire is expansive, covering everything from plainchant to Broadway, though no announcement has been made as to just what the group will sing in Durham. —Dan Ruccia

Price: $10-$48
