This isn't the worst '80s reboot of the year (thanks to Poltergeist), but it's another depressing reminder of how Hollywood will regurgitate anything for a quick buck. Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms), the kid from the original National Lampoon's Vacation, is now an overeager dad himself. The family heads out once again for mythical Wally World, encountering ostensibly comic complications en route. The movie has a few good jokes, mostly concerning the family import sedan known as the Tartan Prancer ("The Honda of Albania!"). But everything is quickly swamped by lazy sight gags and desperate gross-out humor. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo show up at the end, and you'll really wish they hadn't.
