TxakoliFest | Six Plates Wine Bar | Socials | Indy Week

When: Sat., June 1, 1 p.m. 2013

Txakoli is a tart Basque white wine meant to be imbibed with seafood. Six Plates, which prides itself on farm-to-table cuisine, makes Txakoli its focus at this annual event. The wine bar turns itself into a Basque-style restaurant, serving four types of oysters and traditional tapas while Txakoli is poured with a heavy hand. A 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. session includes the food and tasting program for $75; proceeds benefit Housing for New Hope. A $15 ticket for the 4 p.m. to midnight session includes a complimentary cider glass and live music, but requires separate payment for food and drinks. Topa! That's how you say "cheers!" in Basque—I just looked it up. —Emma Miller
