Duke University—"Peace, Love, Respect for Everybody." That's the mantra of the African American Dance Ensemble, which is making its 13th appearance at the American Dance Festival this year as one of the most important forces in African dance. Under the engaging and dynamic direction of Chuck Davis, this eight piece program is sure to represent the energy of African culture and movement while reaching into the soul and body of any spectator. Special guests include Shana Adams, Fruit of Labor and Zayd Malik Shakur. The show is in Page Auditorium at 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Lincoln Theatre—Former kings of new-wave cool, Montreal rock band The Stills burst onto the indie-rock scene in early 2003 with Logic Will Break Your Heart, a stunning debut of dance-ready guitar-synth and angst-and-love lyrics. The Stills shaped their new-wave throwback stance into a pop-rock pompadour for 2006's Without Feathers, pumping their rock ballads full of lush piano and classic Hammond organ. The sexy dance party may be gone, but the tortured lovers and heartbroken boys are here, more epic than ever. Tickets are $8-$10 for a 9:30 p.m. start —Kathy Justice
