Trans-Siberian Orchestra

When: Sat., Dec. 1, 3 & 8 p.m. 2012

As its 20th anniversary approaches, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra remains a staple of the holiday concert circuit with its electric-heavy rendition of "Carol of the Bells" and ... that other stuff they play. You know, that stuff. The Orchestra inspires a near-religious fervor among some of my friends at Christmastime, with some swearing the music works for other months of the year as well. I still don't see it. This concert features the debut live performance of the 2004 album The Lost Christmas Eve along with others from the band's catalog, and the purchase of a ticket allows you to download a five-song EP. I don't know if it includes "Carol of the Bells." There are two shows, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. —Zack Smith

Price: $30-70.50
