Tracy Morgan | Carolina Theatre | Stage | Indy Week

Tracy Morgan

When: Wed., June 5, 8 p.m. 2013

His seven-year run as the lovable psycho celeb Tracy Jordan on NBC's 30 Rock might be over, but Tracy Morgan is still going strong with films, commercials and his stand-up routine. Having experienced his act when he performed at Goodnights in Raleigh in 2010, all I can say is that it is one of the few times in my life I have been actively nauseated by sheer language. It's not just blue; it's navy. Morgan's autobiography, I Am the New Black, is surprisingly thoughtful in its discussion of growing up in a tough neighborhood and the pressures of fame at a young age, though it does contain a bit about defecating in a public pool and several declarations of desire to make various women pregnant. We've no indication what Morgan's performance at the Carolina Theatre will entail, but we advise not eating first. —Zack Smith

Price: $36-56
