Toys for Tots Benefit: Spider Bags, Wesley Wolfe, Beau Bennett, Scribblin', Chief

When: Fri., Dec. 20, 9:30 p.m. 2013

Mike Glass, the longtime drummer for post-rock band Fin Fang Foom, spearheaded this rock benefit. Now the father of a toddler himself, Glass started worrying about Triangle kids without Christmas presents, so he started what he hopes will become an annual tradition. All of the proceeds—including those from a limited-edition original poster by Ron Liberti—will send Glass and Wesley Wolfe on a shopping spree to Toys R Us; in turn, they'll donate the whole haul to Toys for Tots. As for the music, five local acts will work one holiday tune each into their normal sets. One of the Triangle's biggest and fiercest rock bands, Spider Bags, headlines, following sets by the pop-rock songsmith Wolfe (supported by Glass, among others) and their pals Beau Bennett, Scribblin', and Chief. Have yourself a skuzzy little Christmas. —Brian Howe
