GENGHIS TRON and ED GEIN
THE BREWERY—Qualitycore! Both Philly's Genghis Tron and Syracuse's Ed Gein specialize in punishing subsets of metal—the former a merger of grind and electronics and the latter a politically charged, coarse math. Sparks fly on the bands' full-length debuts, Tron's stop-on-a-dime shifter Dead Mountain Mouth and Gein's 2005 behemoth Judas Goats & Dieseleaters. Be sure to demand their cover of Nirvana's "Breed." It's a match made in metal heaven. Wait, is that hell? Loudness at 9 p.m. —Robbie Mackey
