THE VELVETEEN RABBIT | FRIDAY, MARCH 6–SUNDAY, MARCH 22, RALEIGH

RALEIGH LITTLE THEATRE—The classic tale of the stuffed toy who longs to be a real rabbit comes to life at Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre. The story by Margery Williams, already etched on the hearts of many, was adapted for the stage by James Still. "There are two ways to be real," the hobby horse says. "The first is when you are real to one special child, and the second is when you are real to the world." The velveteen rabbit's desire for the former poignantly reflects our own desire for the latter. Kathleen Rudolph directs at Raleigh Little Theatre. 7:30 p.m. Thurs.–Fri; 1 and 5 p.m. Sat.–Sun., $10–$14, 301 Pogue St., Raleigh, 919-821-3111, www.raleighlittletheatre.org. —Leah Montgomery

Price: $10-$14
