Whether toasting the weekend with a bottle of brew or drowning sorrows in a mug of suds, we don't often ponder the science involved in bringing this classic beverage to our lips. Wonder no more! As part of the museum's ongoing Taste of Science series, the eco-friendly New Belgium Brewing Co. (maker of Fat Tire) is presenting The Science of Beer at the Daily Planet Cafe. Learn how beer is made from base ingredients to the finished product at this free event. The café also hosts a menu of exclusively N.C.-made beer. —Christina Cass
