The Hot Sardines

When: Thu., July 9, 7:30 p.m. 2015

The Roaring Twenties’ soundtrack wasn’t just jazz; it was hot jazz. We’re talking flappers kicking martinis off tabletops to the Charleston. The Hot Sardines, complete with a tap dancer, bring speakeasy music from the ’20s through the ’40s to Cary. Led by maestro Evan “Bibs” Palazzo and singer Miz Elizabeth, the upbeat ensemble rollicks through a program ranging from amped Dixieland to Cole Porter. And this is a symphony presentation, not performance, in case you were expecting string-swept spirits. —Chris Vitiello

Price: $28-$30
