The Great American Trailer Park Musical

When: June 30-July 11, 8 p.m. 2010

Trailer park-dwellin' couple Norbert and Jeannie have been married 20 years, and the spark, like Elvis, has left the building long ago. When Pippi the Stripper enters the picture, Norbert gets maybe a mite too interested. Their colorful neighbors step in to serve as a Greek chorus as the action moves along. The two-act musical was first performed in 2004 and has since become known for its Day-Glo and Cheez Whiz kitsch. It also lends itself to spirited productions: One in Arizona earlier this year gave the audience scratch-and-sniff cards (hello, John Waters) to enhance the theatrical experience. —Sarah Ewald
