The Deadstring Brothers, James Ethan Clark

When: Tue., Oct. 15, 8 p.m. 2013

The Deadstring Brothers started in Detroit but are now based in Nashville. Such touchstones should offer plenty of inspiration. But the Bloodshot Records trio (three people, but not three brothers) likes its country bred with ragged, bluesy rock 'n' roll, inspired by both Gram Parsons and Exile-era Stones. Bits of Laurel Canyon folk breeze their way into Deadstring's holistic Americana, too. James Ethan Clark, a rising Wilmington talent, opens. He splits his time between sensitive, pop-centered ballads and Southern rock jams. —Spencer Griffith
