THE CAROLING DEAD: DON'T LET THE HOLIDAYS TURN YOU

DSI COMEDY THEATER, CHAPEL HILL

SATURDAY, DEC. 13

DSI Comedy Theater injects zombie high jinks into local headlines in a new sketch comedy revue for the holidays, somewhere between 28 Days Later and "The Twelve Days of Christmas." The sketches include some alarming "what if?" scenarios that don't actually sound that hypothetical. "What if the police raided an Adam & Eve warehouse?" (That happened, more or less, in 1986.) "What if Cracker Barrel wasn't safe?" (Wholesome fixin's are already a leading cause of carbohydrate comas.) "What if Santa were quarantined?" (Have you seen him lately?) "What if UNC mismanaged another scandal?" (Give it five minutes.) With DSI comedians ripping into stuff this close to home, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll ... hunger for brains? Directed by company founder Zach Ward and featuring more than a dozen cast members, the show runs every Saturday through January. 8:30 p.m., $10, 462 W. Franklin St., 919-338-8150, www.dsicomedytheater.com. —Brian Howe
