The Baltimore Waltz

When: Feb. 24-March 17 2012

Deep Dish celebrates the 20th anniversary of The Baltimore Waltz, a play by Paula Vogel, who's best known for How I Learned to Drive. Thankfully, it is not as depressing as that one, which we advise you not to attend if you've left alcohol and/ or sharp instruments in sight when you get home. This is more of a comedy, and a strange one: A brother and sister avoid dealing with a medical diagnosis by fleeing to Europe, where they encounter the likes of the Little Dutch Boy and Harry Lime from The Third Man. Friday's opening show is at 8 p.m.; performances continue through March 17 at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. A special "Meet the Play" talk is Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m.; post-show discussions are set for Sunday, March 4, and Thursday, March 8. Tickets run $14–$21, with a "Leap Cheap" special of $10 on Wednesday, Feb. 29. —Zack Smith

Price: $10-21
