At this point, Andrew Lloyd Webber has built his name recognition on The Phantom of the Opera and Cats. But Tell Me on a Sunday, a one-act musical, has remained mostly obscure. The plot follows a familiar girl-goes-to-the-big-city trope, in which "the girl" (given no name so each female viewer can superimpose herself onto the character) moves from New York to Los Angeles and back to New York, narrating her trials as the only woman onstage. Just like the girl, the production has undergone makeovers. In 2003, five new songs and some extra material were added. Matthew-Jason Willis directs, with hometown talent Lauren Kennedy participating. —Sarah Ewald
