Teddy Riley & Blackstreet with Dave Hollister

When: Sun., April 14, 8 p.m. 2013

Kid: "Daddy, where do babies come from?" Father: "Well, son, a man zooma-zoom-zoom-zooms in a woman's boom-boom and then a child comes out of her womb-womb." Kid: "No Diggity." Dad: "No Doubt." Blame new jack swing originator Teddy Riley for this classic birds-and-the-bees lesson. But grown folks know that babies come from sexin' to classic R&B grooves like Guy's "Groove Me" and "Let's Chill." Riley is responsible for those, as well as his post-Guy hits with the 1990s R&B group Blackstreet. That's when he modified his R&B resume from kinky to classy. —Eric Tullis
