FRED G. BOND METRO PARK—So pulsing Latino music and spicy Carribean dance parties aren't exactly the first things that come to mind when you think about Cary—but that's where the third annual Festival Ritmo Latino comes in to bridge Latin and Southern cultures. The Diamante Cultural Center and the Town of Cary bring artists Rey Norteño, Brazilian Soul and Trio Los Angeles de Hidalgo to the stage. Folk dancing and Latin food abound, in addition to a variety of music performances and an arts plaza. The rhythm is gonna get you today from noon to 6 p.m. at this sizzling free festival. COMMON GROUND THEATRE—Local filmmaker and playwright Anthony Garcia-Copian presents a reading of his play, which is set in the 1950s. First produced in South Beach, Fla., the tale concerns an encounter between a young boy who sells Biblesand an older woman he meets one day.
