Robbie Fulks
Berkeley Cafe—Robbie Fulks is seriously funny, whether he's accepting a cell phone call on stage from his drummer during the pointed "Countrier Than Thou" or engaging in more telefun on the brilliant "Fountains of Wayne Hotline." But he's also seriously talented, with ace picking skills, an elastic voice and daring songwriting: Fulks moves from a classic-country sound to pure pop so deftly and from edgy originals to covers of Cher's "Believe" and Michael Jackson's "Black or White" so quickly that charges of shtick won't even stick. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, and the music (and humor) starts at 7 p.m. —Rick Cornell

Art Auction
Fearrington Barn—Come celebrate the beauty of art and life at this auction for the benefit of two outstanding community organizations, the Chatham County Arts Council and the Family Violence and Rape Crisis Center of Chatham County. Together, these organizations provide a safe haven and creative outlet for our community. This special auction highlights the good works of both agencies and explores our vibrant arts community through sights, sounds and creative media. Live music, a presentation of the culinary arts, a poetry reading and both a silent and live auction of artwork by local artisans will comprise the auction festivities. Individual tickets are $20.
