Storytelling for Grown-Ups

When: Sun., Jan. 8, 7 p.m. 2012

An outstanding lineup is scheduled for the most recent installment in this storytelling series. Melissa Delbridge, Suzi Whaples and Ellouise Schoettler are sassy Southern gals with somethin' to say; all will be appearing at the national storytelling festival in Jonesboro, Tenn., this year. Delbridge has won many awards for her storytelling, most recently The Monti's first Hippo Award for Comedy. Whaples' stories explore her Appalachian heritage with lightning wit and gentle comedy. Schoettler is an iPhone-toting granny with a classic Southern style not unlike her own grandma's tales spun from her Charlotte front porch. For only $5 ($15 if you partake in the 6 p.m. dinner buffet) you can be inspired, reflect, or simply laugh your ass off. The 7 p.m. show is not intended for the under-10 crowd. —Christina Cass

Price: $5 ($15 with dinner buffet)
