20,000 Streets Under the Sky

Marah's fourth release rallies and then combines the sounds of the band's previous three albums--the Mummers' parade banjo of Let's Cut the Crap and Hook Up Later on Tonight, the street corner soul of Kids in Philly, and the busy Britpop of Float Away with the Friday Night Gods--with exhilarating results. It also houses some of the Bielanko brothers' most unapologetically Springsteenish moments yet, courtesy of "Freedom Park"'s E Street ending and the dirty-streets opera "Soda," which plays out like a lost "Jungleland" chapter.
