Second Sunday Film Series

When: Sun., Dec. 9, 4 p.m. 2012

Now that James Brown is dead, the title of "hardest working man in show business" is unclaimed. Perhaps Todd Tinkham, who has screened his work at more than 250 film festivals worldwide and shows seven of his short films as part of this event, should put in a bid. The program includes And Then There Were Nun, Forever, Sadie Turns Seven, American Short, American Saints, Mary & Jennifer, and the trailer for Southland of the Heart. Tinkham is joined by Aaron Syrett, director of the North Carolina Film Office, to discuss his work before discussion opens more generally to indie filmmaking in the state. If you make films yourself, you're encouraged to participate by presenting a summary of what you're working on, as Syrett is trying to put his ear to the ground in this event. The Second Sunday series presents a new slate of locally made films and a Q&A with the filmmakers each month. The 4 p.m. program costs $5. —Chris Vitiello
