This week, fans of A Reliable Wife author Robert Goolrick will have several chances to hear him discuss his new novel Heading Out to Wonderful, published by Chapel Hill's Algonquin Books. The novel tells the story of Charlie Beale, an enigmatic stranger who heads into a 1940s Virginia town with one suitcase full of butcher knives and another full of money in what's described as "a love story gone wrong." Goolrick will read from and sign copies of Heading Out to Wonderful Friday at 7 p.m. at the Regulator Bookshop in Durham, and Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Quail Ridge Books & Music in Raleigh. —Zack Smith
