Revenge of the Cheerleaders

When: Wed., June 9, 8 p.m. 2010

You can keep your Bring it On sequels. Back in the day, they knew how to make a good cheerleader exploitation film: violence, nudity and explosions! By God, see the example of 1976's Revenge of the Cheerleaders (aka Cheerleaders: The Musical), which is cheerleader exploitation done right. Set at Aloha High School, where nudity and drugs run rampant, the fearless cheerleaders kick some serious ass to save their school from an unscrupulous developer. Featuring cult actress Rainbeaux Smith and the feature film debut of David Hasselhoff as "Boner," this number just happens to be a personal favorite of Mr. Quentin Tarantino. It's a passionate look back at the days when being rated "R" meant something. Cinema Overdrive presents this depravity along with some classic trailers. —Zack Smith
