I wanted to congratulate David Fellerath on a wonderful Front Porch essay "Still waiting for Lefty" in the Nov. 10 issue of the Independent Weekly. His even-handed view of politics was refreshing in a paper in which I typically skip the radical journalism and turn to the calendar and crossword puzzle. I am a Libertarian, and Fellerath's acknowledgement of the shortcomings of our (for all intents and purposes) two-party system made me smile. Thank you for publishing his essay. It was a nice change of pace for someone who is neither far-left nor far-right.
Just wanted to say I enjoyed your column there ("Still waiting for Lefty")! I indeed may feel parts the same. Would call myself an anarchist, and therefore voted for the socialist option of president last year (Brian Moore). Most anarchists don't consider voting at all, actually, but I think we should do what we can to make things even a little bit better for all on this world and all. So I agree with such thoughts you had. It'd be nice if people on a big scale didn't vote because they didn't like any of the candidates. But alas, that doesn't happen, so we keep voting for usually lesser of evils. Sigh.
