PostSecret Live! with Frank Warren

When: Mon., March 17, 8 p.m. 2014

Frank Warren's live act relies on a simple but powerful conceit: Convince people to write one of their most intimate secrets on a postcard and send it to him. The result is easy to translate across multiple platforms, from blog to book to stage show. Some of the secrets seem like witticisms plucked off T-shirts, like "I'm afraid that someday you will admit that you have a problem and will go to treatment and I will be the first person you will be told to quit hanging around." Other post-secrets are direct and sad, such as, "When I told my ex-husband I wanted to end our marriage, he RAPED me." Even some of the more mundane ("I spend most of my time at work looking for a new job") are enlivened by idiosyncratic choices of postcard images (in this case, a boy with French fries in his ears and nostrils). —David Fellerath
