--Attorney General Roy Cooper, on what Gov. Mike Easley knows about prosecutorial misconduct in the 1998 first-degree murder trial of Alan Gell, who was acquitted in a retrial last month. Gell was originally prosecuted by two attorneys from the Attorney General's Office while Easley was attorney general, and his conviction was thrown out because prosecutors withheld key statements favorable to the defense.
