Planned Parenthood Benefit

When: Sun., Aug. 6, 4:30 p.m. 2017

As the Senate deliberates the fate of health care for millions of Americans, organizations that provide invaluable, lifesaving services like Planned Parenthood are squarely within conservatives' sights. This Sunday-afternoon triple bill showcases timeless musical offerings, largely from eras past, to support a cause that speaks urgently to the moment. The Vibe Killers, a raucous covers outfit led by the Backsliders' Chip Robinson, will survey the rich catalog of Neil Young, while Faux Hawks, featuring members of Raleigh jangle kings The Connells, will lay into the songbook of reluctant protest singer Bob Dylan. And providing a final burst of testosterone-fueled rock, The Whom are on hand to bash out the thunderous tunes of the English band responsible for "We Won't Get Fooled Again," "My Generation," and other songs that resonate in our perilous times. —David Klein
