Duke Movement Disorder Center hosts event with the UNC Movement Disorders Center, Duke Institute for Brain Sciences & Raleigh Neurology Associates. Each attendee will participate in three roundtable discussions with other people with Parkinson’s doctors, therapists & research specialists. Topics will include Parkinson’s drugs & their side effects, clinical research, caring for the caregiver & deep brain stimulation. Dr. Nina Browner opens the conference by speaking on “Future directions in diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease.” Astronaut Rich Clifford will give the keynote address as an example of someone who has lived well with Parkinson’s.
