New Year's Eve Bash: Body Games, T0W3RS

When: Wed., Dec. 31, 10 p.m. 2014

BODY GAMES, T0W3RS, JYU

KINGS & NEPTUNE'S, RALEIGH

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 31

Once again, the basement and the club upstairs turn into one free-flowing club. Upstairs at Kings, Derek Torres starts the night with T0W3RS, his unapologetically charismatic one-performer pop powerhouse. Led by singers and multi-instrumentalists Dax Beaton and Kate Thompson, Body Games follows with its immersive and faded electro. Enormous bass slips around hooks that suggest digital ghosts or robotic bandleaders, all shrouded in cut-and-paste video from Adam Graetz. (Expect a Taylor Swift medley, too.) And in the basement, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., Jon Yu pushes his usual First Friday set up two nights for the holiday. And if you're feeling famished, one of the best new restaurants in the city now sits on the ground floor. 9:30 p.m., $12.50–$15, 14 W. Martin St., Raleigh, 919-833-1091, kingsbarcade.com. —Grayson Haver Currin

Price: $10-$12
