Eat Local Triangle (slowfood.org/eatlocal) aims to strengthen the relationship between local farmers and local mouths. This week's events:

Wednesday, June 13

  • Carrboro Farmers Market, 4 p.m. Cooking demo with Dorette Snover and her teen chefs of C'est Si Bon Cooking School.

  • Moore Square Farmers' Market, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sample wines from N.C. wineries Round Peak Vineyards and Bannerman Vineyards.

Saturday, June 16

  • Hillsborough Hog Day in downtown Hillsborough, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Whole, barbecued, pasture-raised hog tasting with pit-master Matt Neal, plus many other hog-related treats.

  • Watts Grocery preview dinner at Elodie Farm, 6:30 p.m. tour, 7:15 p.m. dinner Join chef Amy Tornquist a five-course dinner featuring Elodie Farm's goat's milk cheeses. Info and reservation: 479-4606 or e-mail dinners@elodiefarms.com.

Fearrington Village (542-3030, www.fearrington.com) is hosting two wine events featuring Matt and Amie Garretson, founders of the Garretson Wine Company of Paso Robles, California: Saturday, June 19, 6 p.m., informal wine seminar at The Belted Goat restaurant; $25 per person, reservations required. Jujube (201-L Raleigh Road, Glen Lennox Shopping Center, Chapel Hill, 960-0555, jujuberestaurant.com) hosts a wine dinner pairing fresh summer white wines from France on Wednesday, June 20, at 7 p.m. $55 per person, reservation only. Margauxs Restaurant (8111-111 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, 846-9846, www.margauxsrestaurant.com) will have a lobster fest in honor of its 15th anniversary on Thursday, June 21.

Peony Asian Bistro  (3515 Witherspoon Blvd. #108, Durham, 419-8800) is a new Asian restaurant hidden away in the Patterson Place Shopping Center off U.S. 15-501 featuring sushi and traditional Asian dishes.

The Stam family has been making chocolate in Holland for generations, and now the first non-family owned branch is in Chapel Hill. Chocolaterie Stam (1820 Martin Luther King Blvd. Suite B-10, 967-9373, www.stamchocolate.com) is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy coffee, Italian sodas and your favorite confections.

Park Diner (Greenwood Commons, 5410 N.C. 55, Durham, 405-2270, www.parkdiner.com) is closed temporarily but its catering business remains up and available.
