Movies by Moonlight: Eat Pray Love

When: Thu., June 9, 7 p.m. 2011

When people need to make change in their lives, they usually get a new haircut, buy a new outfit or maybe even a new sofa ... but not lovely Liz (played by Julia Roberts). She cuts everyone loose, including her husband, and goes on a trip around the world. She learns the power of nourishment in Italy, meditation and prayer in India, and cosmic love in Bali. Grab your friends and a chilled bottle of pinot and watch Julia's journey under the stars at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre. Gates open at 7 p.m.; the film starts at dusk. Tickets are $3; kids 12 and under are free. If you're green-minded, you can pedal in for free, or donate four cans of food for the Food Bank of Eastern & Central North Carolina for a free movie coupon, too. Make sure to load up on bug spray and enjoy one of the true summer pleasures in the Triangle. —Christina Cass
