As part of their continuing Natural Horror Film series, the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences will screen Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1963 film this Friday, March 1. The film follows socialite Melanie Daniels (Tippy Hedren) as she trails lawyer Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) from the city to his quiet coastal hometown of Bodega Bay, Calif. Upon arrival, Daniels is randomly attacked by a seagull in a scene that proves to be only the beginning of a series of attacks by increasing numbers of birds. Keep a lookout for Hitchcock's cameo appearance at the beginning of the film, walking along the streets of San Francisco. "Special Showings" for details.
