BECAUSE WE'RE STILL HERE (AND MOVING)
UNC-CH CAMPUS—Join Hidden Voices, UNC sociology students and local teens as they present photography, music and stories from historically African-American neighborhoods of Chapel Hill and Carrboro, with the evocative names of Windy Hill, Tin Top, Southwest Lane and Potter's Field. This student project was created from interviews with community elders and residents, and we hear that the show has some bite: They promise to answer such questions as where Nat King Cole, Dinah Washington and Cab Calloway performed and stayed (No, not the Carolina Inn) and why Chapel Hill will be lily white in five years. The 5 p.m. performance will be in the Campus Y and admission is free. For more info, see www.hiddenvoices.org or call 732-9299. —David Fellerath
