Van Halen
RBC Center—Aging, balding divorcees out of rehab and looking for love: Is there a warmer story this summer than Diamond Dave and the Van Halens (including Eddie's teenage son Wolfgang) burying the ax (along with bassist Michael Anthony)? It's been rocky lately, with several cancelled dates, rumors of more rehab and that missed-frequency YouTube video, but also sort of rewarding—at least financially for the band (damn filesharing). Tickets will cost you between $49.50 and $125, and the glory daze starts at 8 p.m. —Chris Parker

Psychiatric Regurgitation
Volume 11 Tavern—Tonight's gore-obsessed lineup will leave no head unbanged, as mutual Texas thrashers and tour mates Psychiatric Regurgitation and Hyperion storm through "in the name of gore-soaked vomit," as Psychiatric Regurgitation proclaims. Whoa. Raleigh's own speed metal messiahs Morose Vitality headline, while Body Soil and Worse Than Birth open. Bring earplugs and a settled stomach for the 8 p.m. churner. —Dan Strobel
