GOODNIGHTS COMEDY CLUB, RALEIGH

THURSDAY, NOV. 20–SATURDAY, NOV. 22

For the past two decades, Margaret Cho has had to balance being a comedian with being a crusader. When she first broke out in the early '90s, people found her Korean-American heritage so unique and adorable (ABC gave her a short-lived sitcom and everything!) that she virtually had no choice but to represent for all her Asian peeps. In the '00s, when she dropped the concert films I'm the One That I Want and Notorious C.H.O., she took it upon herself to put it down for all her ladies who don't adhere to typical American beauty standards. And these days, the tattooed, bisexual Cho is basically an LGBT outlaw, even though she's married to a dude. (Don't get it twisted though; it's an open marriage.) With Selene Luna and Jenny Chalikian. 8 p.m. Thurs.; 7:30 and 10 p.m. Fri. and Sat., $28–$35, 861 W. Morgan St., 919-828-5233, www.goodnightscomedy.com. —Craig D. Lindsey
