Get out your gaming gloves and commence finger exercises: Major League Gaming (MLG), the world's largest professional video game league, is descending upon Raleigh for its 50th live Pro Circuit Competition. In this three-day tournament, more than 200 teams and individuals—from local amateurs to "formidable" pro players—will leave their X Rocker Commander Pedestals behind and compete for ultimate glory. Featured game play will include World of Warcraft, Tekken 6, StarCraft II, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii and the largest Halo 3 competition in MLG history. So whether you'd like to use weapons, grenades and melee to defend humanity from getting glassed or save Princess Peach with some platform sumo, there's a station for you. Want to join in the play? Competitor passes run $35 for most games but top out at $240 for a shot against the best at Halo 3. A spectator pass to the button-mashing spree runs $25. And for those who can no longer bear to face sunlight, an HD pass (for live streaming) will cost you only $10. —Lindsay Parker
