Macbeth | NCSU Campus: Titmus Theatre | Stage | Indy Week

When: Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. and Sundays, 3 p.m. Continues through April 25 2010

If you're ever trying to show off your Shakespeare knowledge to an actor, never refer to Macbeth by name inside a theater. Call it "the Scottish play" or anything but Mac___. Despite the purported dangers, theater companies continue to produce the Bard's shortest play, a tragedy about regicide, power and ambition. Local theater stalwarts Rachel Klem of Common Ground Theatre and Dana Marks of Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern co-direct N.C. State's production. Warning: Don't be surprised if a panicky stage manager urges you to run outside three times and spit over your shoulder if you utter the play's name inside the theater. —Belem Destefani
