Love Hangover with Christy Smith & Patrick Phelan, Ashley Carter & Jeff Crawford, Abby Nardo & Seamus Kenney, Billie Karel & Scott Phillips, Caroline Mamoulides & Dave Kepford

When: Tue., Feb. 15, 9 p.m. 2011

Diana Ross' "Love Hangover" is a disco classic, a mid-'70s single that's a sugar rush of confectionery joy. Her hangover is an afterglow, a day of warm fuzzies after a glorious first date. On Tuesday, in five cities across the country, a slew of one-off duets will explore the intricacies—both dark and light—a love hangover can take on. Kings joins venues in Brooklyn, Chicago, Kansas City and Ann Arbor, Mich., in a post-Valentine party that's equal parts celebration and commiseration. The club welcomes a slew of talented locals paired off to sing songs of lost love, found love and the frustrating indecision in between. It's a night that should please those basking, Diana-Ross style, in new romance, or those who've left relationship blood on the tracks. The musical pairings won't disappoint: Christy Smith, the soaring country voice of the Tender Fruit, will warm up the chilly croon of Luego's Patrick Phelan. With other impressive names, such as rock 'n' roll do-it-all dude Jeff Crawford and Seamus Kenney of the plucky SNMNMNM, it should prove a lovely time no matter the current state of your heart. — Jordan Lawrence
