Jimmy Williams' photography portrays both majestic landscapes and somber black-and-white portraits. Printmaker Christopher Williams draws from Japanese aesthetics to create earth-toned works divided into subtle squares and rectangles. Painter Heather Gordon's works, in her words, "explore how the written and spoken word used in combination with song create national identity and patriotic spirit." Block Gallery is on the first and second floors of the Raleigh municipal building at 222 W. Hargett St. —Sarah Ewald
