Lisa Lampanelli

When: Sat., Oct. 13, 8 p.m. 2012

We don't know about any of y'all, but when it comes to crude, racist, utterly offensive jokes told by a female New Englander with a big gay following, we prefer bad, bad girl Lisa Lampanelli over the ever-beloved Sarah Silverman any day. Lampanelli and Silverman spew the same type of relentlessly R-rated, button-pushing humor. But since insult comic (and self-described "Queen of Mean") Lampanelli is a loud-mouthed, working-class-looking Italian who usually dolls herself up like a dirty-joke-telling drag queen onstage, and alt-comedy darling Silverman is a demure JAP whose act comes off more elitist than subversive, Lampanelli's brand of caustic, controversial comedy is ironically easier to take. And even though she's married to a fellow Italian, it's a kick hearing the former Celebrity Apprentice contestant tell jokes about all the black guys she's had sexual escapades with. (Many of which are well-documented in her book, the aptly titled Chocolate, Please.) —Craig D. Lindsey
