Lights Out, Rowan

When: Sat., Oct. 1 and Sun., Oct. 2 2011

Durham filmmaker Hal Burdick has written, directed and produced a new adventure film for children, Lights Out, Rowan, which premieres locally this weekend. Inspired in part by such 1980s adventure films as Gremlins and The Goonies, it pits a group of kids up against a seemingly impenetrable darkness that contains dangerous creatures they must battle to save their families. Tickets are $9 for adults, $8 for students and $7 for children and seniors. The film screens today at the Durham Arts Council and the ArtsCenter in Carrboro, and on Sunday, Oct. 2, at Game Theory in Raleigh.
